 The Norwegian-Latvian
Executive Master Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship

- a joint program between Riga Technical University and Buskerud Univeristy College, Norway
The Norwegian-Latvian Executive Master Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship offers relevant and state of the art courses in business areas important for the general advancement of the enterprise, as well as specialized courses in innovation and product development, utilizing some of the most competent professionals in these fields in Norway. The courses will in general be taught in English.

 

The program is open for all which has
- a Bachelor degree
- preferably min. 3 years working experience
- a working knowledge of English

Modular based
The program is tailored to people working and is modular based over a period of 2 years (4 semesters)
Each semester will in general consist of up to 3 modules (3 courses of 4 credits each) following the following pattern:
One module will in general consist of 2 separate in-class sessions with structured activity after each section:
1st class session: 3 nights and 1 day of intensive lecturing/group interaction/problem solving:
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights: 18.00 – 21.45
Saturday: 09.00 – 16.45
Intermediate period: 4-5 weeks of problem solving, discussions and assignments. General method of communication between lecturer and students and between students will be the Electronic learning System ORTUS: a state of the art learning and communication system using the Internet.
2nd class session: 3 nights and 1 day of intensive lecturing/group interaction/problem solving: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights: 18.00 – 21.45 and Saturday: 09.00 – 16.45
Intermediate period: 4-5 weeks of problem solving, discussions and assignments. General method of communication between lecturer and students and between students will be the Electronic learning System ORTUS.
Exam/evaluation: This will vary somewhat between the different courses, but all courses will include written exams in class or at home.

Curriculum
The curriculum includes regular course work, courses where the students work in groups with real projects or products developed by students themselves, innovation techniques and a Master Thesis (20 credits, which will run over 3 semesters.
Subjects for the Master Thesis could be topics directly related to the innovative challenges of the company where the student work, the area of business the company is working, or some innovative products or services developed during the course of the program.

Study trip
During the 4. semester, a study trip to Norway is part of the program ( 5-7 days). The
study trip will include visits to companies and trade associations, as well lecturers on
political and economical issues in relation to EU.
Faculty

Most of the courses will be taught by Norwegian specialists in their respective, some also with previous teaching experience from Latvia. Each course will also have a Latvian instructor to enable the beast teaching environment for the students.

Annual tuition (2 semesters) is USD 6900

Schedule can be compressed in order to complete it in 1 year.
